Drug Enforcement Task Force
Northern Branch
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, Saratoga Springs Police Department and the DEA working together. In an effort to reduce the quantity of illegal drugs in Saratoga County, law enforcement agencies throughout the county have partnered with the DEA to form a Northern Branch of the Capital District Drug Enforcement Task Force. The focus of this branch is to concentrate on illegal drug users and sellers in Warren, Washington and Saratoga Counties. Since drug dealers know no boundaries, law enforcement has similarly erased jurisdictional limitations and can now freely follow the dealers and the drugs across county lines.
This Task Force has demonstrated through its investigations and arrests a significant decrease in the amount of drug trafficking in the Capital District. The Task Force works closely with area district attorney’s offices in the successful prosecution of these cases.
Fortunately, as a result of creating the Task Force, we have been successful in preventing drug traffickers from getting a foothold in the region. The four active agencies in Saratoga County are the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, The Saratoga Springs Police Department, the DEA and the New York State Police.
