Ballston Spa, NY — Saratoga County District Attorney Brett Eby announced today that Jennifer Pratt has been promoted to Senior Assistant District Attorney. Pratt brings seven years of prosecutorial experience to her new role She commenced her legal career at the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, where she primarily prosecuted cases involving domestic violence, sexual assault, and animal abuse. Pratt joined the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office in 2021. Since that time, she has handled a wide range of cases with a particular focus on special victims matters. As a member of the Special Victims Unit, Pratt has successfully prosecuted felony cases involving sexual assaults, domestic violence, and crimes against children. Through her diligent work with local law enforcement agencies and prosecutors across the state, she has helped secure convictions that have resulted in significant state prison sentences for offenders.

Among her notable cases are:

  • People v. Stephen Frank: Pratt achieved guilty verdicts at trial for Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, and Assault in the Third Degree. The defendant was subsequently sentenced to 8 1/3 to 25 years in state prison.
  • People v. Thomas Rivera: Pratt obtained convictions for Burglary in the First Degree and Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, resulting in a 14-year state prison sentence.
  • People v. Cyrus Tetreault: Pratt assisted in securing a conviction for Manslaughter in the First Degree concluding with an 11-year state prison sentence.
