SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. — Saratoga County District Attorney Brett Eby announced today that a Saratoga County Grand Jury has returned a 32-count indictment charging Mark N. Sabo (D.O.B. December 10, 1965) with numerous felony offenses, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree (P.L. § 220.18(1)), Aggravated Sexual Assault in the First Degree (P.L. § 130.70(1)(a)), multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (P.L. § 265.03(1)(b) and (3)), multiple counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (P.L. § 265.02(1) and (8)), and multiple counts of Assault in the Second Degree (P.L. § 120.05(2)).

The indictment alleges that between August 2025 and December 2025, at a residence on Reynolds Road in the Town of Moreau, Sabo repeatedly subjected the victim to violent physical assaults using various dangerous instruments, including a blow torch, power drill, knife, and fire poker.

The indictment further alleges that during this approximately five-month period, Sabo repeatedly held a loaded firearm to the victim’s head. On one occasion, Sabo allegedly discharged the firearm to demonstrate that it was loaded and to reinforce his threat to shoot the victim.

The charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second-Degree stems from the seizure of more than five ounces of crack cocaine allegedly possessed by Sabo at the time of his arrest.

“This indictment reflects the seriousness of the allegations and the extraordinary work of the investigators and prosecutors who brought this case before the Grand Jury,” said District Attorney Brett Eby. “I commend the members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and my office for their commitment to pursuing justice on behalf of the victim.”

The investigation was led by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit and Narcotics Unit.

The prosecution is being handled by Special Investigations and Narcotics Unit Bureau Chief Meghan A. Horton and Assistant District Attorney Brian Clark. The investigation was supported by District Attorney’s Office Investigator Michael Hourigan.

Sabo is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment on July 16, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. before the Honorable James R. Davis in Saratoga County Court.
