SARATOGA COUNTY— The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Saratoga Springs Police Department, and Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office are proud to announce their collective participation in the upcoming Walk Like MADD event, slated to take place on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

Walk Like MADD is a significant annual event dedicated to raising critical funds for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), an organization deeply committed to eradicating the entirely preventable crimes of drunk and drugged driving. With the alarming statistic that 2 out of 3 individuals are likely to be directly affected by a drunk driving incident in their lifetime, the need for unified action against this pervasive issue cannot be overstated.

The participation of these agencies underscores the collective commitment to preventing drunk and drugged driving incidents within Saratoga County. Their involvement serves as a powerful demonstration of the collaborative effort to support victims, survivors, and the wider community in their healing process.

Members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Saratoga Springs Police Department, and the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office will be walking alongside victims, their families, and concerned community members, taking meaningful steps towards putting an end to these violent crimes.

“We are honored to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our colleagues in law enforcement and the community in this crucial event,” stated District Attorney Karen Heggen. “Our collective presence at Walk Like MADD signifies our unwavering dedication to preventing further tragedies and offering support to those who have been affected.”
