Jordan Garafalo, dob 3/2/1983, of Saratoga Springs, was arraigned today, December 9, 2021 in Saratoga County Court by the Honorable Mark Caruso, Acting Saratoga County Court Judge, on a three-count Indictment in connection with the death of Mark French of South Carolina on Caroline Street in Saratoga Springs on or about August 14, 2021. A Saratoga County Grand Jury returned an Indictment charging Jordon Garafalo with Manslaughter in the First Degree, a “Class B” Violent felony, in violation of New York State Penal Law Section 125.20(1); Manslaughter in the Second Degree, a “Class C” felony, in violation of New York State Penal Law Section 125.15(1) and Assault in the Second Degree, a “Class D” Violent felony, in violation of New York State Penal Law Section 120.05(1). The Indictment alleges that Jordan Garafalo, with intent to cause serious physical injury to another person, Mark French, caused his death. The Indictment also alleges that Jordan Garafalo recklessly cause the death of Mark French and that Jordon Garafalo caused serious physical injury to Mark French.
On November 30, 2021, James Garafalo, dob 1/15/94, of Saratoga Springs, was arraigned in Saratoga County Court by the Honorable Mark Caruso, Acting Saratoga County Court Judge, on a three-count Indictment in connection with charges arising from the same date and time as described above. That Indictment alleges that James Garafalo committed the crimes of Assault in the Second Degree, a “Class D” Violent felony, in violation of New York State Penal Law Section 120.05(1) and two counts of Assault in the Third Degree, “Class A” misdemeanors, in violation of New York State Penal Law Section 120.00(1). These charges allege that James Garafalo caused serious physical injury to Mark French and that James Garafalo caused physical injury to two other individuals.
Jordon Garafalo is released on a $100,000.00 posted bond. James Garafalo is incarcerated in the Saratoga County Correctional Facility by the Saratoga Springs City Court following a declaration of delinquency on a separate matter and remanded without bail on the charges in the Indictment.
District Attorney Karen Heggen noted that “these charges reflect the determination by the grand jury concerning the conduct and alleged culpability of each defendant on August 14-15, 2021 on Caroline Street in Saratoga Springs”.
