Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen announced that Daniel Deming (DOB: 4/24/88), of 489 Angel Road, Corinth, NY, 12822, NY, pleaded guilty May 31, 2018 in Saratoga County Court to a string of local robberies, before Saratoga County Court Judge James A. Murphy, III.
Daniel Deming pleaded guilty to 2 counts of Robbery in the Third Degree, in violation of New York State Penal Law Section 160.05, a Class “D” felony. He admitted in Saratoga County Court that he acted in concert with Christopher Hutchins and Ashley Deming to commit the robberies at the Sunoco Station in Mechanicville and the Mobil Mart in Stillwater, NY on April 7, 2018 and April 13, 2018, respectively.
District Attorney Heggen praised the work the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, the Mechanicville Police Department and the Stillwater Police Depart in solving a string of robberies committed by Daniel Deming and his codefendants, “this case is a great example of several Saratoga County police agencies working together to investigate and apprehend those responsible for a series of robberies occurring in multiple jurisdictions by sharing critical information with each other and working together for the protection of the citizens of Saratoga County, a goal shared by all local law enforcement agencies”.
The District Attorney’s Office has been in regular contact with the robbery victims throughout the proceedings. Assistant District Attorneys Charles Bucca and Sarah Leszczynski prosecuted the cases and deferred comment until sentencing, which is currently scheduled for August 2, 2018, at which time Daniel Deming is expected to be sentenced to 5 to 10 years in prison.
