Traci L. Briskin indicted by Grand Jury for Manslaughter for alleged drunk driving, running stop sign and killing man in second vehicle in the Town of Charlton.
Saratoga County District Attorney James A. Murphy, III announced today that the Saratoga County Grand Jury indicted Traci L. Briskin, 39, of 614B Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, NY, for the charges of Manslaughter 2nd as a Class C Felony, 2 Counts of Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd as Class D Felonies (one for each subdivision of DWI, common law and %BAC), and two counts of Driving While Intoxicated, one under Section 1192 (2) and the other under Section 1192 (3), both as Misdemeanors.
The top count of the indictment, Manslaughter 2nd, carries with it a maximum sentence range of 5 to 15 years in state prison.
The indictment stems from an incident that occurred on November 30, 2012 where it is alleged that Briskin was driving drunk when she drove through a stop sign on Jockey Street in Charlton and struck Baker’s car. Baker was transported to Albany Medical Center and died.
The defendant will be arraigned on the indictment in Saratoga County Court on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:00 am.
