October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Every October the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office works to “Shine the Light on Domestic Violence” by participating in a campaign to “turn the office purple” and bring attention to the crime and the perpetrators who commit these crimes. Purple is the color chosen to help spread awareness of the problem of domestic violence. The campaign is a way for organizations to show their support for ending violence. People wear purple clothing while police cars and municipal vehicles display purple magnetic ribbons. Here, Acting DA Heggen and her staff hold a purple fabric to commemorate the month and to demonstrate their commitment to ending domestic violence.
Acting Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen and staff recognize October as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month”.
