Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen announced that Christopher Hutchins (DOB 06/06/92), of 29 Allen Road, Greenfield, NY and Ashley Deming (DOB: 04/09/87) of 489 Angel Road, Corinth, NY, pleaded guilty on May 25, 2018 in Saratoga County Court to a string of local robberies, before Saratoga County Court Judge James A. Murphy, III. Christopher Hutchins pleaded guilty to 2 counts of Robbery in the Second Degree, PL 160.10(2)(b), Class “C” violent felony offenses and Ashley Deming pleaded guilty to Robbery in the Third Degree, PL 160.05, a Class “D” felony.
Christopher Hutchins pleaded guilty and admitted today in Court that he robbed the Dollar General store in Schuylerville, NY on April 6, 2018 and acted in concert with Ashley Deming and a third defendant to rob the Mobil Mart in Stillwater, NY a week later on April 13, 2018. Ashley Deming pleaded guilty and admitted today in Court that she acted in concert with Christopher Hutchins and a third defendant to commit the robbery at the Mobil Mart in Stillwater, NY on April 13, 2018.
District Attorney Heggen has declined to comment further on the facts of the case at this time due to a third co-defendant’s case which is still pending in the Saratoga County Court.
The District Attorney’s Office has been in regular contact with the robbery victims throughout the proceedings. Assistant District Attorneys Charles Bucca and Sarah Leszczynski prosecuted the cases and deferred comment until sentencing, which is currently scheduled for July 27, 2018, at which time Hutchins is expected to be sentenced to 10-years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision and Deming is expected to be sentenced to 6 months in jail followed by 5 years of probation with substance abuse treatment.
