Saratoga County District Attorney Karen A. Heggen announced today that Sebastian P. Mabb (DOB 10/28/92) of Saratoga Springs, NY, was sentenced today by Saratoga County Court Judge James A. Murphy, III to 23 years to life in a state correctional facility following his plea of guilty to Murder in the Second Degree, in violation of Penal Law Section 125.25(1) a class “A-I” Felony. 

Defendant Mabb admitted on June 27, 2024, that he intentionally caused the death of Brianna Craig. On February 6, 2024, Ms. Craig was found deceased inside her apartment in the City of Saratoga Springs. Mabb and Craig were former intimate partners, residing within walking distance from each other. 

Before imposing sentencing, Judge Murphy heard from family members of the victim Brianna Craig.  District Attorney Karen A. Heggen stated, “Judge Murphy’s state prison sentence today recognizes and holds Defendant Mabb accountable for the horrific and tragic results of this domestic violence case.  The profound impact this case has had on the family and friends of the victim will live with them forever.”

District Attorney Heggen praised the efforts of the Saratoga Springs Police Department in their thorough and meticulous evidence collection and handling of this case. She noted, “The sentence imposed today is the result of exceptional work by the Saratoga Springs Police Department in their comprehensive investigation of this case.”

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Rachael Phelan and Jennifer Buckley together with District Attorney’s Office Investigator Jack Barney.  The Defendant was represented by Assistant Public Defender Michael DiPresso.
